Warm welcome, well-equipped clean confortable room with an excellent mattress, original and delicious breakfast in a beautiful rural setting about 10 mins drive from Axminster and its restaurants and diversions. Ideal for a weekend getaway in very good walking country. Be aware that meals other than breakfast may not be available.

Loved our stay here. The new owners are doing a great job of refurbishing the hotel. Our room was comfortable and clean, plus they really are dog friendly and even gave our girl a little toy on arrival. The only thing we felt was missing was some sort of communal area, be it a lounge, a bar or outdoor seating area but we were out most of the time so really didnt affect our stay. We met Lauren and she told us about their plans for the future which sound awesome so we'll be back for sure!

Fantastic hotel!! We stumbled across this gem of a hotel after a disaster b&b experience elsewhere and they saved the day! Always holiday here now, as a quick getaway to the seaside.. great base for Lyme regis (we have used the park and ride easily to get to the town/beach.) Lauren and her Dad are such lovely people and brilliant hosts, that make you feel right at home. Throughly recommend.. the beds are SO comfortable, the blackout blinds and peace and quiet are all you need for a perfect stay! Keep up the great work, see you soon x

Our family of 3 plus dog spent 2 nights here in the summer after abandoning our tent in the torrential rain. The place is as cosy and welcoming as it gets. It really is a home from home. The owners are on site and are the perfect bridge between professional and friendly. The owners dad was helping out the week we stayed and he was a joy to chat to. We stayed in a room in the main house and we upgraded to a jacuzzi bath, which my son loved! The breakfast was perfection and we enjoyed looking closely at the fab art around in the dining room (you’ll see when you’re there ;-). The grounds looked beautiful and there is a little sunset platform with beautiful views, unfortunately it was unseasonably cold when we were there so we ran in after the sun went down, but in warmer days it would be a lovely place to sit and share a bottle of wine. Location wise it’s accessible on the roads to all the places you’d want to go. Oh and they are also super welcoming to dogs, and gave her a little toy on arrival which was a lovely touch. It’s rare to find places that don’t feel commercial or soulless, but Fairwater really feels like a home from home where you can relax and be taken care of.

Currently staying here now and are so happy with this hotel. The hotel itself is grand looking from the outside and has the traditional Manor House look to it upon entering with its lovely oil paintings, grand piano, large fireplace and herringbone flooring which I love. Further into the hotel it has a modern twist which is also lovely and has a lovely view point with tables and chairs outside. We were welcomed very warmly. The hotel always smells fresh and clean and is really quiet. The room we’re staying in is modern but with keeping with the country house theme. The room is clean, staff/owners make your bed daily and replenish hot drink items and any drinking glasses that we may have used which we haven’t experienced anywhere else. The bed is large and super comfy. The bedding is clean and the towels provided are more than enough. They’re a decent size and fluffy. The attention to detail here is brilliant! I almost don’t want to recommend as we will 100% be returning and we don’t want the rooms to be fully booked but I think everyone deserves to experience this place! If you’re looking for a place to stay in the area, this would be your best choice and you won’t be disappointed! Thank you guys!

Had a fantastic 10 days here! Stunning setting with the most beautiful sunsets. Close to so many places of interest for both adults and children this is the perfect place to rest after a busy day in a lovely spacious and comfortable family room. This hotel is both child and dog friendly. The proprietors and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
